During story time today, I decided to teach the kindergartners about water.  I told them that most of the Earth is covered with water, that ocean water is salty and we can't drink it.  I used online videos to show the water cycle and then I showed them the different forms of water.  I boiled water in my tea kettle, so they could see water vapor, which is a gas.  They saw water in its liquid form and in two solid forms: ice and snow.  Later, after the snow melted I dumped it into the clear bowl, so they could see how dirty it was.  I reminded them to not eat snow that hasn't freshly fallen.  They loved this science lesson and now they are "in the know" about water!
