In the winter, I teach my students about polar animals and the kindergartners illustrated this booklet about penguins, since they are such unusual birds. They learned how this bird has adapted to the cold, about its needs and about its predators. I use the globe and world map to help my students understand their place in the world, about the poles and the equator. They loved their finished product and they couldn't wait to bring it home and show their family.
